America's Boating Course - Copley (Starts Feb 14 - 6 weeks) Public · Hosted by Akron Sail & Power Squadron - Akron's Boating Club Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 7 PM - 9 PM Copley High School 3807 Ridgewood Rd, Copley, Ohio 44321

This course meets the requirements for Ohio’s Mandatory Boater Education requirement (the Ohio Boater Education Card), required for all boat operators born on or after January 1, 1982 who operate a boat over 10hp. The boater education card should be carried on-board the vessel while underway.

The ticket price covers the textbook, which may be shared among family members

• Introduction to Boating
• Boat Handling techniques
• Boating Law
• Boat Safety Equipment
• Safe Boating
• Navigation
• Boating Problems
• Trailering, Storing, and Protecting Your Boat

Developed by the United States Power Squadron (USPS), “America’s Boating Course” includes a 244 page full color manual that serves as the course textbook. The manual, which can be shared, is $35.

Course is 6 weeks long.

Graduates receive the “Ohio Boating Education Card”, mandatory for boat operators born after 1981.

Graduates can also attend Seamanship Class (Fall 2018) at no charge - $55 value
