Join us for an intimate and heartfelt celebration of Black history at Pathways to Freedom: Stories of Strength and Legacy as we honor the inspiring legacies of Sara Lucy Bagby and Sojourner Truth. This special event offers a unique opportunity to explore historic artifacts that bring their powerful stories to life and to experience a meaningful gathering in a warm and cozy setting.

Location: Hale Farm and Village, Gatehouse Visitor Center
This free event welcomes all community members to engage with the enduring narratives of resilience and empowerment.
While admission is free, registration is encouraged to ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees.
In addition to the program, we invite guests to visit our community partners, who will be on-site sharing valuable resources and insights that complement the event’s themes of strength and legacy.
Depending on the weather, the grounds may be open for exploration, though historic sites will remain closed.

Meet the Organizer
Hale Farm & Village is the living history museum of the Western Reserve Historical Society, located in Bath, Ohio. Surrounded by the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Hale Farm includes the generational home and farmstead of the Hale Family, heritage breed animals and gardens, and an 1840's Living History Village--featuring historic structures dating between 1830 and 1850 from across Northeast Ohio.
