Highland Square Neighborhood Association (Porchrokr!) is excited for this year's Film Festival! The mission is to showcase filmmaking talent with a decidedly local flair. This year, we are maintaining our local focus, as well as broadening our scope to create another memorable film fest that brings the community to multiple locations and film festival events. This year will include a full-length feature films including a Q& A with a lead actor, the premiere of Akron's own 1915 silent short film, multiple screening locations, music, vendors, cash prizes, and a final musical performance.

Pre-Festival: Friday, May 12

• 7:00 pm Film screening of First Cow followed by Q&A with actor John Magaro
• Location CATAC theatre @ 220 S. Balch St.

Itinerary: Saturday, May 13

• 10:00-11:00 Community Yoga with Yoga Squared @ Will Christy Park

• 12:00-4:00 Vendor tables open.

• 12:00-4:00 Films/presentations/installations @ locations throughout Highland Square.

• 4:00-6:00 The Portage Trail, Film Festival Awards, musical performance with Free Black! @ The Highland Theatre.

Film Festival: Saturday, May 13

• $30 (pre-sale ONLY) Full Pre-festival and Festival Access to all locations and a full events access on BOTH MAY 12 and MAY 13. Children 13 and under are admitted free of charge with the purchase of an adult ticket.

• $20 ($25 day of the event) Full Festival Access to all locations and a full day of events on MAY 13. Children 13 and under are admitted free of charge with the purchase of an adult ticket.

• $15 ($17 at door) Pre-Festival Film ONLY showing of First Cow, folllowed by Q&A with actor John Magaro @ CATAC Theatre.

• $15 ($17 day of the event) Closing event ONLY premiere of The Portage Trail, film festival awards, and musical performance with Free Black! @ The Highland Theatre.

• $10 ($13 day of the event) Short films/presentations ONLY @Yogasquared, Square Nightclub, Matinee Bar, and the American Legion Post.
