Marbling is a method of surface design that involves floating color on prepared water, using tools to manipulate the colors into designs, then picking up the color with paper or cloth. The art of marbling has been practiced around the world for thousands of years. In America, decorative papers found their way to the end papers and covers of books and journals, including those belonging to the Hale Family, part of Western Reserve Historical Society collections. Inspired by this traditional art, employing natural and a modern twist, create decorative papers for cards or journal covers. The finish-at-home kit includes note cards, envelopes, small accordion journal and instructions for assembly.
