This is a fun workshop for any beginner or professional artist looking for a night of relaxed printmaking. In a way, Monoprinting is like painting with ink! All participants may bring their own food, beverage and friends as long as they are registered for the event prior to event start date. This event is being hosted at our printshop by Akron Art Library!
RCP team will lead demonstrations of ways to create line, texture and colors for printing with Intaglio and block printing ink. A monotype is a unique print. The participant will practice on an 8" x 10" plexi-glass and apply ink many different ways including: painting, rolling, stenciling, or offsetting ink onto the plate. The artist may also use subtractive methods to remove ink. An etching press is used to transfer the image to paper and everyone gets a chance to turn the wheel.
Participants will then create a large scale print usuing Intaglio inks and leave with a beautiful "18x24" monoprint. We invite participants to make a collaboration print where all participants add something to create a final image!
